“Father of Nation”
“Gandhi Jayathi is celebrated on October 2 every year due to birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in India.”
His birth anniversary is celebrated world wide.
Full name of Mahatma is “Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi” born in Porbandar, Gujarat on October 2,1869. This day people celebrate with prayer service. President and Prime Minister of India usually pay homage at Raj Ghat, the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi in New Delhi.
Prayer meetings and commemorative ceremonies in various cities by all educational institutions like schools, colleges, local government institutions and socio-political institutions through country.
Essay competitions, Painting, games held in schools and award announce for projects on the peace, non-violence and Gandhi's effort in Indian Freedom Struggle.
Gandhi's favorite devotional song, Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram is sung in memory of him.
The alcohol and no-vegetarian is not permitted to sale in India on this day.
Due to contribution towards the Indian independence movement people honor’s the Gandhi and his non-violence of Life.
Gandhi led Salt March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, Dandi March and the Dandi Satyagraha in 1930.
In 1942, he launched the Quit India Movement
UN General Assembly adopted a resolution that declared October 2 as International Day of Non-Violence. On June 15, 2007. The resolution reaffirms “the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence” and the desire “ to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence”.
'Father of the Nation' and was addressed as Bapu. Gandhi was a firm believer in God and called himself a Sanatani Hindu. He believed in the teachings of the sacred Hindu texts such as the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Puranas.
